Completed Task: Watch Stranger Things

Why did I wait so long to watch this?! I'm an 80s kid through and through.  I wasn't as much of a geek in the 80s (it was tough being one in my small town, especially when no one was able to introduce me to things), but I'm definitely one now.  And between my nostalgia for the time period and my knowledge of things now, it hits my sweet spot.   As a general rule, I don't care for horror.  And this show definitely has it's share of horror.  But for all that the psychological and visual horror was there, it didn't bother me nearly as much as it usually did.  I think it's because I was able to focus on the nostalgia and the story rather than the horrific aspects.   And the story was incredibly engaging.  In season one, finding out what happened to Will and what we could find out about Eleven kept me continuing to go on to the next episode.  The relationship between the kids had me invested.  The familial relationships felt r...

Brief Update

Slowly but surely, I've been making progress on my 101 in 1,001.  Not a lot has been fully checked off but there's a lot that's in progress. I started writing my 100 Things That Make Me Happy.    I'm putting it in my BuJo for a safe place to keep it.  I like the layout design that I'm making with it.  When I finish, I'll post it all here.  In the meantime, here's a couple of pictures of the BuJo pages so far. I'm still keeping up with my cleaning schedule.  There are some false starts and changing things up every once in awhile, but it's been two weeks and I haven't stopped yet.  I'm keeping my motivation by posting to a Facebook group that I started and I have a friend that's encouraging me as I send him before and after pictures. I've been working on my About Me  book as well.  It's interesting to remember things that I'd forgotten thanks to the prompts in the book.  I'm hoping to get into a routine of doing a couple pa...

Why 101 in 1,001?

I didn't realize until I went to put my goals into the  DayZero Project  website that I tried my first 101 in 1,001 14 years ago.  I've tried rebooting my 101 in 1,001 several times over the years. I always forget about it and don't jump back in. So what makes this time different?  I'm not sure.  Some of it could be that I'm actually starting to recognize the things that are important to me.  I turned 50 last March and there are several things that I've been putting off.  I've got a plan in place, combining my 101 in 1,001 with my Bullet Journal to keep me on track. I'm setting up a dedicated space to work on these things.  Some of it could be the fact that I've lost so many people in the last couple of years and I'm becoming aware of my own mortality. My dad's passing, while devastating, wouldn't have been enough to push me.  But three friends and several acquaintances around my own age have passed in the last 2 years. It really makes yo...

Welcome to my 101 in 1,001!

Hello all!  Welcome to my journey for my 101 and 1,001.  I'm going to use this space to write about the various goals and how I reached them, adding the various lists that I want to make, and the pictures I hope to take.  It will probably be a slow start, but I hope you'll stick around for the journey and help encourage me along the way!
